D&D (2024) Unearthed Arcana Playtest Packet 6 Video

Yes indeed they did! Because the new fatigue 'did not get enough excitement', which is just a made-up requirement when they want something to fail - no-one is ever going to be EXCITED about new fatigue rules, which they never used in the first place, because of how gruesome they were.
It’s not an excuse, it’s how UA has worked for the past decade.

I wonder if certain things that dont find their way into the 2024 Players Handbook might find their way into 2024 DMs Guide.

For example, I like the UA exhaustion system.
I wouldn’t be surprised, since that’s exactly what happened in 2014 with some of the options that didn’t survive the D&D Next playtest.

I still am, contingent on them not screwing up the Warlock.
I think the canary will be what wild shape looks like. If it's 2014 with errata, pact magic lives. If it's templates redone, pact magic is probably toast.

(Obviously, it's possible to split the difference, but the whole "sparks joy" test doesn't fill me with confidence either will get heavy revision).
