There is no more annoying jargon to have entered and completely overtaken the discourse than "diegetic." People can't stop saying it.

Is it different if it's actually being said in the conversations that are part of the thread than when it is being said in conversations about the thread?

Just because you are a meat eater does not mean you cannot really enjoy vegetarian or vegan food. Source: am carnivore married to vegetarian/sometimes vegan.

This is aimed mostly at men. Some dudes act like enjoying a nice seitan taco will snip their manhood right off.
I tried 2 years vegan, with my wife who maintains it to this day.

Never been weaker/sicker lol.

That one might be my fault.

We could make it more annoying, by using it in a discussion about jargon. F'rex:

Is a word jargon when it is used to express it's most basic meaning? "Dog" doesn't mean anything special when used by a dog trainer. And, "existing or occurring within the world of a narrative rather than as something external to that world," is the basic definition of the word "diegetic".

Is there a difference between "technical terms" and "jargon"?

A lot of terms in math have only one meaning (the math one) and are very useful in the middle of a complicated proof in that sub-area of math. They're much less useful in a talk in a related sub-area where half the audience isn't on working terms with them.
