I understand that magic likely would be hazardous to ones limbs, and proportions, and dimensions, but must it mangle the fingers so much?!

The number of images rendered laughably bad by having the fingers just uncanny valley wrong, is so high at times.

Its just an AI art thing for some reason. It can manage faces (with sometimes with photorealistic swooping into the uncanny valley, but even then not as often with modern forms) and figures within reason, but about one picture in 4-10 has hands that have gone very strange places.

Yeah, theres a reason I try to get mine with a closed fist as much as possible, its way harder to screw up or notice 6 fingers or a hand on backwards, or whatever.

Hands are hard, even for human artists. Someone posted a link to an article early in the thread that talks about why hands and fingers are so hard for the algorithm to get right. (One reason is because of just the sheer number of different positions they can be in.)

Absent those ridiculous ears the Dwarf in the second one is the perfect image for a character of mine: a huge-bearded Dwarf who is a Cleric to the god of beer.

Saved. Those ears will come out once I get to them.

Update: I got to the ears and whacked them out of the picture. This is what resulted.

I'm going to be running The Wild Beyond the Witchlight for my wife and daughters soon. It's going to start off in Eberron before shifting to Thelanis (Eberron's version of the Feywild).

My middle child is the first to complete her PC, a kalashtar aberrant mind sorcerer with the Feylost background. Her fairy friends gave her the name Moonflower, which is the name she prefers. She is still only 22, but time passed more swiftly back on Eberron, so most of her friends and family have gone.

Here are some of the images we came up with, starting with the one my daughter likes best.

My daughter decided she liked the watercolor style the best. The D3 didn't always get the skin tone right (she wanted it darker than many of the ones it gave her), and for some reason it occasionally gave her character elf ears even though we specified human.

She made Wisdom her PC's dump stat because she is often "away with the fairies" and loses track of where she is and what time it is. She also gets a bit confused between her quori spirit's dreams and reality.

Yellow-blond hair instead of silver-white and the first one would be a bang-on image for my happy-go-lucky goofball Illusionist from 3e. I might just have to see what I can do with this...
