Actors strike is over. I guess that means that the big streamers got to keep their (likely much lower than what they've said) viewership numbers a secret...
It just really gutted The Marvels, huh. Wait long enough for it to come out so they cannot do any promoting, and now all that's left is damage control.
There aren't that many of the movies per year on average, but it's my understand that Disney did have an 'arrangement' with theaters in the U.S where they have to allocate a certain number of their spaces to Marvel movies or they don't get any movies. Which certainly would make it feel like you have no options. Some times it just feels like it is all superhero movies and there aren't any other options.
To be fair, the first attempt was just a ploy to keep the rights and wasn't ever intended to be released. I watched it last year, and I'm sad to say that it captured the essence of the Fantastic Four better than the first theatrical release.I'm in camp "it ain't gonna happen". They've averaging one attempt per decade for the last 30 years, which is a pretty high rate. One was so bad they basically dug a hole and buried it, one was completely mid according to absolutely everyone and had the worst Doctor Doom ever, but hey it got an sequel, and the most recent one is apparently regarded as one of the worst films ever made, and certainly is one of the worst full-budget superhero movies ever made.
It has a comic book-accurate Doom in costume! I wish the other FF movies had half the heart it does.To be fair, the first attempt was just a ploy to keep the rights and wasn't ever intended to be released. This is not a good movie, but it appears as though they actually cared about the source material which is something I didn't get from the movie they released in the theater. It has a comic book-accurate Doom in costume! I wish the other FF movies had half the heart it does.
