Yeah, I think the "Storm" argument has more merit (not a lot more, but a bit) than "Wakanda". That one doesn't go far beyond black, other than maybe "black and awesomely stylish looking".
honestly, it is the colour choice, I have been programmed for years for white and gold to look holy whilst I associate wizardry with blueish or purple colours.I mean, you nail it here. It's meant to look like a cool wizard to inspire players to play one.
It's the image from the PHB Wizard's title page. They've said that there's art for each subclass, too, so we're going to see at least four more Wizards in the Wizard section alone (far or less all the ones that we will see elsewhere in the book in "party" shots).
One thing that I bet we can expect: The others will look very different from this one.
I can see the appeal of a gritter and practical down-to-earth mage art, contrast helps with these things.Tastes differ, is all I can say. I've seen a lot more AI art that looks better IMO.
And get rid of the bits of shoulder "armor"change the clothing colour and put a cool hat on her and she would look arch magey.
yes, still very generic and without context, reverse image search found this oneIt doesn't give much more context to what she's up to.
I wear glasses at times (night driving, mostly), but I just find them odd on D&D adventures, mostly because magic would fix any vision issues, right? So, a PC as "powerful" as this one "seems" to be, it just strikes me as strange.
Glasses are a corrective device for a defect in structures of the eye.Depends on how you define needing glasses. Is it really a disease to be cured?
I think Dr. Strange covers the who wizardess of the art.sure it has to look like something, but there are tons of spells that do look very different from this
The sphere and symbols made me think Dr Strange
black, sleek modern-ish clothes, glasses, metal staff, for a comic universe that comes close to Wakanda to me, chances are there are others (not much into comics), but that one comes to mind for me thanks to two movies
I have no issue with the character being black, my objection was not about skin color at all, it was about style
yeah it is the colour of the magic and outfit that bugs me, it should be blue.
Once you get out of Tier 1, 5e is a game of fantasy superheroes.LOL, SHE IS FLOATING!!!!![]()

This is such a superhero pose it is ridiculous. Storm, Dr. Strange, whoever. "Floating magic of awesome power".
