On the Mastering Dungeons discord I pointed out that 2.5k PHB sales in a month is actually low compared to the weekly sales of the PHB we saw on Bookscan. It's hard to compare Bookscan, which usually includes Amazon, but Bookscan had 2,348 sales in a week back at the start of July 2023.

Whelp, if it is at "2500+" that means they are probavly selling 9-10 a day on average. If they sell 12 or more one given day, 7 the next, then 12, the rank can jump around.

Wow, my bad, missed a zero there...

But still, a small number of people buying or not buying at that rate can make a big difference.

I'm kind of astonished Amazon still has this availing print, so close to the new vook being out.

OTOH, if it’s still selling at that level, they’re going to be selling it for as long as possible.

At 5k+ sold last month on Amazon US at $26 the 2014 PHB is ranked at 249 out of all books sold in Amazon US.

The 2024 book isn’t yet ranked in preorder.

Yeah, I preordered the revised books.

With the price of the core books the same as 2014 (and spread across several months), I want to see the revision for myself and draw my own conclusions rather than give weight to the opinions of people that either just want to complain or those whose playstyle I am completely uninterested in. That damned Greyhawk map and setting overview just pushed me over.
