D&D General Boomer/GenX 5e? (+)

I see people are talking about how to get Millennials to appreciate D&D. What about Baby Boomers and GenXers, though? How would you get them to appreciate all the wonderful things 5e offers? I mean it seems 5e is designed for the younger folks anyhow, especially the upcoming not-a-new-edition edition, why do we even need to make it appeal to Millennials and GenZers?

So anyhow what would you say to a Baby Boomer or GenXer to get them to give 5e a fair shake?

As a GenX I am already hooked, don't care about Greyhawk because I homebrew so much, and the cartoons don't make me want to buy books.

I mean, I got a happy chuckle at seeing them again. But no part of me translated that into a desire to buy a book.

I WILL buy the books because I support the hobby, and prosperity = more content as a whole!

Boomers are people in their 60s and 70s. Have you tried teaching new stuff to your grandpa? It can be a bit tedious. Old people are not really into new stuff, generally speaking. GenX are in their mid 40s and 50s. 5e has enough nostalgia vibes from 2ed, so they are kind of covered on that aspect.

Milenials and oldest gen Z are in their prime earning and spending years, or close enough. No matter the generation, people in late 20 and 30s are prime customer demographics. Out of party years, disposable income to spend on leisure activities, parents so they control the wallet when it comes to products aimed at kids.

Boomers and GenX that has kept their rpg interest alive either play 5e and are ok with it, or play other systems that fit them better. I can't really see WotC getting bang for their marketing bucks targeting older folks, when - as the OP said - the system is clearly evolving to fit young consumers.

Me, I'm early GenX and don't like 5e and the direction it's taking. So I play other systems instead, all is good.
