I like all of these covers. I do enjoy having various D&D characters on the covers, but I think the bright colours and scenes themselves are meant to inspire adventure in the mind. I remember back in the day seeing the 2e covers (specifically the black bordered ones) and I immediately could imagine the fantasy world they showed. My least favourite part of these covers though, is that they're so damn good I'll need to buy both the standard and FLGS versions :/

No kidding...and the 2nd edition AD&D Monstrous Compendium Volume One (there was no Monstrous Manual for four years).

Far better than the 2014 cover, but I don't like it so much as the new PHB and DMG covers.

I seen the alternate cover for the PHB but not for any of the others. Does anyone know if they have been released?

I haven't commented on the other two covers but I'm going to now, they are all not good at all IMO. The other two are forgettable at best, this one put the nail in the 5E coffin for me. Again, just my opinion.
