D&D (2024) WotC has called the new ruleset 5.2. Why don't we?

I'm in.

5.0 is vanilla 5e (no expansions). 5.1 is some vague point around TCoE and XGtE. And we finally can get away from that .5 nonsense (It's a delimiter, not a decimal!).

Bonus: 5.2 doesn't really contend with people that will want to say "5.24" or "5e24"; they could be used interchangeably with little confusion. But it also avoids the obvious problem that not all the books are coming out in 2024.

I don't mind this. I prefer 5.24 or 5e24 denoting the changes by year - which if you want to include Tasha's as it's own set of hefty changes is useful. I just think that calling it 5.5 or 5.75 is shortsighted.
Yeah, 5.75 would get awkward when they put out the 5.4 SRD in the 40s.

5.2 works, at least it matches the upcoming SRD. I'm as likely to just use '24 rules or something like that, though.
