They were told specifically thst they were not the final print copies, there was a final editorial push thst needed to be done...and it is conceivable that putting thst disclaimer in was saved for the final print file.

It's been a thing for the past decade, each book since the 2014 PHB at least has had a humorous disclaimer.
They may well be stopping, or they may have wanted to slip it in last second. We'll see.

Space constraints have become a significant issue, haven’t they? Perhaps this is the underlying cause.
Regardless, these might be the last books printed with the general audience in mind. Most likely, moving forward, they will produce only deluxe edition books.
This approach would allow them to maintain the claim that the game remains a classic RPG—expensive enough to entice people to play via Beyond and appealing primarily to collectors.
