D&D General Bob World Builder Recreates WOTC's "Do You Like Me?" Survey!

It would. Though publishing 5E campaign settings based on what I liked when I was 13-years-old would help. Depending on how badly the butchered the setting.

Exactly. They're doing the survey to see if they've generally been forgiven yet. Likely to test the waters for whether they need to bother even trying to rebuild trust.
I'm a bit late to this thread, but they really haven't done anything since the OGL debacle to rebuild trust. The shattered the trust we had with the OGL decision and putting it into creative commons after the uproar was more self-defense that trust building. Yes they went an extra step, but that extra step isn't enough to build trust with us.

They haven't bothered in the time since the OGL to rebuild trust. They didn't release the past editions into CC and are making us wait until 2025 sometime at the earliest. And they have made other minor missteps like they did by shutting down the Youtubers who have been posting snippets of the PHB. Rather than just be honest with them and say something like, "We really want it to be a surprise for our customers," they lied and told them a BS reason like, "We don't want someone to pull off each page of the PHB and create their own product." That's not a huge deal, but it's still a misstep when they should have been trying to rebuild trust this entire time.

pretty sure that is the actual reason, otherwise why allow showing and talking about everything. Also, it happened, it was screen-grabbed and put into a pdf

Not surprised by the survey, pretty much in line with what I expected.

That said, I also wouldn't be surprised that if you did a meta analysis on these kind of surveys across many many products in the world, you would see a lot of scenarios where the product is like, but the company that makes them is not. Maybe not to this degree, but I would expect that would be a common trend.

If that's the reason, WotC needs to fire everyone who is in charge of that decision and get competent people. All they did with that is create more animosity for no actual gain on their part. Zero. They don't actually stop anything by doing it.

Nevermind, I didn't check thread dates and made a comment that only made sense if the poll just went up.

Yeah. I think what I loved most about the results are that 54.8% of people recommended D&D in the past month or year, but only 25.3% recommended a WotC product in the last month or year. 🤦‍♂️

Do they not understand that D&D is a WotC product?

they maybe would have delayed it a little (they also sold books at GenCon…), at the latest once you can buy it in stores this would happen

The incompetent part is not having this covered upfront in the terms so the YTers know what they can / cannot do

As to it happening, from another thread
No its from a youtube video of someone who did a page by page thing. Someone captured each page and into a PDF.

From the screenshot posted its low quality and there is a watermark from the youtuber.

And what did they gain? Nothing. So there is a low quality version out there. In less than a month there will be very high quality versions out there. They did lose more trust, though, by acting in such an imperious manner. Getting the some of the Youtubers serious warnings.

that is basically what I said, the mistake was to not have the terms established to prevent the low quality version - and as to high quality, with selling at GenCon it might not even take a month

oh well, they keep stepping on rakes…
