I’m hoping that the crunch will all be in the players book and campaign book will be mostly lore so I can run the modern Realms with another system like OSE.

I won't be acquiring the new rule set at this time, but have mild interest in this bc it is FR. Even if they manage the proposed date, November of next year is some time off. Will have to reevaluate closer to then.
Late next year could be anywhere from October to December. I actually lean towards the Player's Guide being in October, because they will want at least a month between the books and they won't want FRAG release too close to Christmas so I'd say mid October.

Of course we might get a better idea of it when the play testing starts.

It actually sounds like crunch and lore are mixed between the two books: specifically, the big main gazateer is in the player book.

Yeah the FRAG I think is mostly DM advise outside of the 5 regional guides that I suspect will include secret stuff DMs might now want their none DM players knowing about, while the Setting Overview that updates the lore of FR to the current in setting time line will be more the kind of publicly available info on various regions, events, Gods, etc..., that a reasonably educated individual could expect to be well informed on.

BTW given there is already a D&D book called Forgotten Realms Player's Guide from previous edition,I suspect it's extremely like it will get renamed.

PS I want the old Forgotten Realms mark back, the one you could find on all the early FR novels.
