D&D (2024) 2024 D&D: now available for the rest of us

TerraDave

5ever, or until 2024
2024 PHB now available through all channels. Curious to hear about non-US retail (which I will also be checking) and Amazon delivery.

Live on roll20. Full char sheet should be working in about 90 minutes. At this moment beta seems to have all options but is still very buggy. 2014 works just as it did before and they say it will continue to do so. Mixing and matching also there.

What do you think?

I bought the digital version on D&D Beyond, and am starting to explore it. The hyperlinking is wild, and not in a good way.

When you click on a link that takes you to an item in the glossary section (i.e. click on Hide in the Actions section) it takes you to the glossary, but if you then click on the "back to contents page" link at the top, it takes you to the contents for the Free Rules instead of the PHB. I got very confused when, after having done this inadvertently, I clicked on the Origin Feats and there were only four feats listed.

I ordered mine on Amazon because I still had a gift card burning a hole in my pocket. The email says it's supposed to arrive Thursday, but I'm hoping it'll arrive tomorrow instead (I find a lot of things I order on Amazon show up a day earlier than they're scheduled).

Physical copy not available in New Zealand yet. My FLGS says they have been told soon. But the Roll20 version is great and it allows me to share it with my players.

Fantasy Grounds will be posting the new book "around mid day Eastern Standard Time." They have an FAQ about the implementation of the new ruleset at D&D 2024 Rules Update and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).
I don't get it. The D&D 2024 rules are backward compatible. So why are all the character mixing and matching options not recommended? And why do I have to choose Legacy or 2024 rules for my campaign?

"Is D&D 2024 a new ruleset?"
"No."

they tried to sell us a lie and in the end they sold us half-truth.

2024 is not a needed revision of 5E and it's not really compatible with 2014.

They needed to do really more with upgrading 5E.
