D&D 5E Amazon US book sales rank.

Amazin reviews are useless aling with adventure reviews that take 6 months to complete.

Mostly people are reviewing first impressions (on product they've already decided to buy) or shipping.
This adventure looks great 5/5. Try running it.

I will say that these reviews so far are nothing like the early reviews of 2014. Some of them where quite the essay.

No idea I think 2014 was the last time I used Amazon.

For things like APs I'll use general vibes here and say reddit.

Or ill ask a specific question eg recently I bought Golden Vault.

Generally bought sod all after 2021/22 or so due to medioocre product.

I've heard that retail sales are really good.

It's basically what I expect.

Good 6 week window at least.

5E one of the better editions (ymmv of course) and it's sold a bucket load.

Downside of that is they have potentially inadvertently trained a new generation of neo grognards AKA 5E (2014) or bust.

I feel like, in this case, exposure to online negativity probably caused the industry to skew conservative in their ordering (and probably also WotC when choosing the print run of the Store Exclusive Cover). My distributor was telling me that some stores ordered, for example, 40 copies, and then reordered 60 more.

In 30 years of retailing, I don't think I've ever underestimated a demand by anything like that (unless you're talking something where I ordered ONE and turned out to need THREE). I didn't personally undershoot by that much, but I DID underorder (though part of that was because I thought that I'd be able to always get more if I needed them, which would have happened if the distributor hadn't needed to fill double-sized reorders).

But my point is - I think those stores that under ordered by that sort of margin were probably overly influenced by online apathy, negativity, and rage.
