D&D General You Can Now Make Greyhawk Stuff On DM's Guild!

Greyhawk_Legacy.png

As of today, third party creators can publish and sell material set in the World of Greyhawk! Dating back to the dawn of Dungeons & Dragons, Greyhawk has an entire chapter devoted to it in the new 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide.

Right now you can check out some legacy official content from Wizards of the Coast, but expect more to start appearing there as soon as the third party creators get their teeth into it.

It's fine, they've even said that if it sells well enough they'll be able to get the art professionally done in the future.
No, that's not fine. They shouldn't use any art, or just use the stock art that the DMsGuild gives out for free.

I've goofed around with AI art generation a bit, but any commercial use is just...right out.

Well, clearly I disagree. I think it is 100% fine for a small time creator to use AI art. It's not like they're trying to hide it.

I will grant them the small credit of being upfront about what theybare doing. The same credit I would give a small restaurant advertising that there was 66% less feces in their food than previously.

It's not OL for small creators or presses to use AI art and charge money for it, any more than a large corporation. Same difference, it is still grotesque.

Yet somehow I had never heard of it until a few years ago. Despite playing D&D for the past 30 years.

It basically died when you started playing.

There's really only 4 major settings for D&D. Mystara is one of them. My favorites DS. It's not a major one though.

I was thinking greyhawk dropped off from the dnd consciousness with 3e, but that was when there was a living greyhawk campaign so I'm assuming a lot of 3e players were aware of it.

It was in Dungeon Magazine a lot. Specifically 3 APs. 2 of them are very well regarded.

So more support than most settings. Last great adventures 2007.
