Eric Noah's 3rd Edition Website

I joined some time after the 3E release. Winter 2000 probably. Posted here a lot and then nutkinland for a long time. Haven't been all that active for 10 years or so now though

Old enough to be "here" from nearly the beginning of Eric's Third Edition news, reading every single new tidbit of information with great interest. Discussing with my new D&D group (I had just moved too).

Funnily enough, it is very similar to when I first started playing D&D, when 2e was on the horizon and previews were coming out in Dragon magazine. While I was doing much less of the talking at the time since I was new to the game (not to RPGs, I'd been playing other games for about 5 years), and it was fun to see the others be interested, excited, and them describing to me the differences and how they saw it might change the game.

I can't remember how I came across the site but was early on, so must've been 1999. I'd forgotten it was that old, I thought it was 2000. Two possibilities are that I was searching for a copy of Auroras Whole Realms Guide and Anauroch around then so I may have just come across it during a "web" search, or I was on the FR Email board, so I may have found out about it there. Regardless, once I found the site I probably checked it once a day, and except for a few periods where I wasn't actively playing TTRPGs, I still do. I didn't join the boards until 2017 according to my profile, must've been looking for an answer to a question I had and decided to sign up. Hard to believe that was half my life ago.

How many of you are old enough to remember the website? I was waxing nostalgic. I was really excited about the new game. I went to Origins Game Fair in Columbus OH and walked up to play a demo game. Monte Cooke walks up and introduces himself. I don't know Monte Cook from Adam. Okay great I'm in but he seemed surprised I didn't even know who he was. After that though I was following Eric Noah's page faithfully.

How many of you young pups weren't even born yet or were super young?

I started gaming in 1979, kid.

I have no idea if I was actually active on the forums of Eric's site, but the site overall was very helpful in convincing me to adopt 3e. I came here shortly after that site closed down.

I had an ENoah account and a d20 Gleemax under the Atanakar user name, mostly in the d20 Modern forum sections.

Yes. I was nemmerle back then. I remember incorporating leaked 3e rules into my 2.5e game that I snagged off EN’s site.
