I'm 90% sure most of the failing narrative is coming from the anti-woke grifter content mill.
Yeah, I've only seen good things about it online including reviews and viewership numbers.

I could see how the anti-wokes might rally against it though. Not a single straight man in the main cast!

I can understand that argument when in many shows it does feel like people are "shoe-horning women" into shows just to score diversity points.

But a show about a coven of witches, I mean its like the original girl power story:) Throwing in more men would be the equivalent "shoe-horn" in my opinion.

Overall, I think this is on the higher end of disney+ shows, and if it sticks the landing might actually be the best. In terms of "legitimate" issues with the show:

1) Agatha has started to take a back seat in her own show which has been a notable trend in a lot of marvel stuff lately. This is really starting to feel like the Billy Maximoff origin story more than agatha's show, but we will see how it ends up. But Agatha isn't really doing much on the show tbh, she betrays, she acts crazy periodically and snarky, but other than getting the party started isn't driving any plot or interactions.

2) People really take killing and nearly getting killed in this show in stride. They hear Rio plot their murders and they are simply like "we are watching you". Agatha kills one of the sisters and they just kind of move on from it. Billy almost kills several of them and other than a few choice words later on they pretty much seem cool with him (and he shows very little remorse).

That said, Lilia does lampshade this a bit, as she said something about "we're witches" in response to some of that. Is murder and betrayal just part of the witch life? In that case, it's more believable.

3) Considering how dangerous and deadly the road is supposed to be, they take it extremely casually at times. Like almost goofy, especially Agatha who in theory "should know better". That said, this isn't that off brand for Marvel, the idea of quipping jokes while beating up bad guys is just part of the style so this may be an unfair critique

This is one area where bad actors have poisoned the well. I'd be hesitant to argue a particiular work of fiction was shoe-horning women (or anyone else) into a story simply because so many bad actors bring that up so frequently when a major character, never mind the main one, is a woman.

Yeah, so many of the places where people accuse women of being "shoe-horned" are places where they were historically exclude from. The lack of women Jedi in the early Star Wars movies says more about society at the time they were made, not about who is qualified to be a Jedi.

I was going to say that the problem often has to do with expectations, where the expectations were set in the way they were for no obvious reason in the first place--except probably the biases of the creators of the time.

Marvel Studios is officially set to deliver Episode 8 and Episode 9 of Agatha All Along on the same day, Wednesday, October 30. This marks the first time any MCU show has had more than one episode drop for its finale date.
Wait, so they're dropping them a day early on Weds? Is that so they won't clash with Halloween activities? I would've thought that dropping them on Halloween would've been perfect timing.

They have been dropping them on Wednesdays throughout the run. Dropping the last 2 on Oct 30 gets the show done for Halloween, rather than a week later.
