Eric Noah's 3rd Edition Website

I was there for the 3e pre-release news, as many of the old timers...
For half of my life I have been involved in Eric Noah's or ENWorld sites, OMG!

Of course I remember the [Hivemind] threads of the Meta forum, who many sleepless nights I spent there, reading and posting as if there was no tomorrow...
Wow...I have not thought about the Hivemind threads in forever.

A lot of the off-topic stuff moved to CM, alas, that site is pretty dead now.

Bah, you're a 4 digit member ID; I am deeply judging you. :)
Heh heh... I don't even know where my member ID is posted in the system. My profile indicates various things but doesn't seem to give me an ID that I can see.

I also see that it says I actually joined in August of '02, rather than January. Which makes me wonder if perhaps I had a different user ID in the Eric Noah board that carried on into and through the crash, but I then made the DEFCON 1 account later on in '02 for some reason? I don't remember. But I know I've had the radiation symbol as my icon from the beginning of the DEFCON 1 username.

You're number 7006, for the record. (If you need to see your ID, just reply to your own post; the member ID is in the quote header.)

I'm pretty low (205), mostly because I remember checking every few hours to see if the site was back up yet.

Heh heh really? That's funny, because 7006 was actually the last four digits of my home telephone number when I was a kid. I'm pretty sure I didn't purposefully hold off joining with the DEFCON account just to get that number. I don't think. Pretty sure.

The joys of serendipity.

I am not that old to only know it is a website. I joined it when it was already a forum website, and 3E had been released for a while. Long enough for my then-newly joined and now-long-defunct gaming group to pick up the rules and started playing it.

I'm pretty sure it had forums from, if not day 1, at least really early.
