D&D (2024) WOTC Canceling 2024 Dungeon Masters Guide physical orders (Deja Vu All Over Again)

They're not cancelling your original order per se, but a double booking that the Marketplace seems to trigger when they ship your book. If you look at your order history, you can see the status of your order; mine says shipped for the DMG and in process for the MM
 

I got an email today. They gave me a coupon code. Frustrating, because I made the purchase with Affirm*, so all my physical books get cancelled due to the weird billing.

*use it to really beef up credit, pay off everything way before it's due.
 


So I checked my card account, and I currently have two charges for the same amount from DDB. This really looks like it was a double charge and they're cancelling one of them; at least for me.

Edit: this was posted by a mod on the DDB forums,

"If you received an email from test@dndbeyond.com, I would disregard it. The team is investigating why these were sent out.

The order status shown on your order history (link shows orders in the last 3 months) should be the correct status. If your order is genuinely cancelled, you should expect a followup email from orders@dndbeyond.com some time today."

You would think they would learn their lesson from the 2024 PHB fiasco a few months ago. Nope. Just received an email that my payment failed for the order and it was cancelled. Same as the PHB even though there’s plenty of funds there to cover it.

Submitted a ticket to their world class support team to wait weeks/months to sort it. it’s just beyond stupid. Anyway, here’s for awareness. Have a great day, folks!
The email came from test@dndbeyond so it was an error.
 


Funny. I didn't get any emails about my orders getting screwed up. But then, I didn't place them in the first place...?

How many orders has Kobold Press canceled?

I recieved the cancelation notice, but my card was actually charged and I still have access to the DMG.
