Saw it at the theater when it came out. I just caught it halfway through on AMC around Thanksgiving, but nowadays its played too much, same with A Christmas Story, saw it in the theater when it came out but when it's played for 24 hrs on 3 different channels they lose their charm.

Sadly overlooked when it comes to action movies that take place during the holidays: Long Kiss Goodnight. It has far more Christmas feel than Die Hard imo.
Other than that I feel the Mischief Theatre's "A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong" and "The Spirit of Christmas" are both excellent.

Not familiar with "The Lion in Winter".
I just caught it this morning while watching the Ref, Kevin Spaceys character Lloyd has an epiphany which you can clearly see on screen when he tells Jesse to lead Gus through the path in the woods.... sorry SPOILER.

really? Classic Historic drama about Henry II's Christmas Banquet, Peter OToole as Henry and Katherine Hepburn as Eleanor of Aquitaine. Lots of court intrigue and politics, great movie
