Maybe Beyond products like Monstrous Compendia, or more adventures

My biggest fear is the inevitable move to more and more Beyond exclusive products, but then physical product just fade away.

On the flip side I'm not that interested in the direction 5.24 is going with its power creep and ever present magic. So maybe this saves me money....

Given well more than half of these announcements are in-person play or physical products, what is it about these announcements which trigger your fear that they will stop publishing hardcopy books?

..

There have always been things that were limited access. We used to have Dragon and Dungeon magazines and of course there have always been non core books. I don't see how the delivery mechanism matters much.

But as long as there is a demand for offline products and they are profitable, they will be sold. The additional cost for printing a book is not that high.

Nothing specific in the post, but when Parmandur suggested Beyod exclusives it got me thinking about how digital exclusive are used to get people on the "app" and then slowly the model changes from physical to digital releases.

Then my mind starts to wander down this path. They are talking about surprises what could that be, well they are playtesting the Artifacer? But they haven't announced a book that it would fit in yet? Wait didn't they just release a beyond exclusive class? Some demon knight with a weird name? What if they are releasing the Artificer as a beyond exclusive class? I don't really like the Artificer ( obviously I can't even spell it correctly), but also I don't want a game I have to play with DLC, I like books.

the it continues with.

Actually I would be OK if each class and subclass was a printable PDF and then you could build your own PHB in a three ring binder with just the class and subclass you wanted?

The Illriger is not a dnd beyond exclusive, or even a WOTC product. It’s a third party MCDM product, that is also an available though MCDM’s web store.
