I keep meaning to buy the updated version; I framed the original and hung it up, I liked it so much.

The poster of the original version came with Gygax magazine #1, which is where I got mine. I'm not sure if it's available anywhere else, though.

Apparently Frog God Games had it at their booth and I found a link to their site, but that gives me a 404, so no point posting it. Guess they sold out (150 copies)

Clearly the "PbtA branch" grew from FUDGE.

How so? I don't see much relationship between FUDGE, or Fate, and Apocalypse World, other than that they're all RPGs.

I would say that Ars Magica is a progenitor of the d20 system as well. Jonathan Tweet worked on both, and the universal resolution is pretty similar.

There are "roll a die, add attribute and skill" systems that predate either. Interlock comes to mind.

Yeah those both seem like glaring oversights.

Even though Gumshoe seems to only birth more Gumshoe games, that’s still interesting: a branch of the tree that is straight with no offshoots.
