First off its funny they call this the 2024 MM given it's not releasing until Feb 2025.

But this has some cool new info like there is a Vampire Umbral Lord which is more powerful then even the Vampire Nightbringers.

Also Archhags are CR21 and Elemental Catacysms are CR 22, but shy of the Empyean.

Well, they had wanted to release all three books in 2024 to mark the 50th anniversary, but they had to spread them out more as the printers couldn't cope with the volume. Think of the new MM as a 2024 book that got delayed till early 2025.

Yeah, that too. It's still part of the 2024 5e revision, even if they couldn't arrange for it to be released in 2024.

Oh and 40 NPC stat blocks! I think the old templates count as stat blocks so they aren't included in the 84 new creatures list.

I mean, sure, they undoubtedly could have found more printers to cope with the volume, but there were probably might have been other reasons for the delay that they just haven’t shared. (The marketing dept might have insisted on spreading out the releases more so as not to saturate the market; their work on the MM might have taken longer than they expected; etc.)

I know it's crazy, but I would respect corporations a lot more if they were more transparent about stuff like that. The marketing-speak doesn't do them any favors in my eyes.
