I dunno. I’m thinking of the last five years or so of WotC publications and I’m not seeing much Tolkien there.

Either thematically or in terms of trope.

WotC takes on halflings is pretty far from hobbits. Elves have become their own thing. Dwarves? Maybe? Orcs are certainly different.

I’m not seeing much Tolkien. Far more Rowlings to be honest.

I hate to be that guy (yeah, right!) but unless you are writing a pithy, short reply like this one always create your long form posts in a word processing program with auto-save turned on. I cannot tell you how many message boards have eaten my long form posts when I don't. I feel your pain and at the same time, kind of enjoy it.
