Not really sure why they needed to do that. The 4e World Axis mythos basically "reimagined" Gruumsh as Ares, and that worked perfectly fine as a god who would be worshipped by orcs and non-orcs alike.

I could make some guesses, but I don't really take a positive view to the presentation.

Anything's possible but I don't expect we'll be seeing a Norse, an Egyptian, or a Gaelic pantheon in future publications.
