I would like to see a return to practical effects
I'd love some hand animation, too. But I'm not holding my breath.
I would like to see a return to practical effects
Unfortunately most of the articles I could find on police procedural numbers were behind paywalls (many of the headlines looked optimistic about their popularity but you really can't tell for sure form teh one paragraph preview you get). I would be interested to see if there is any information on this as police procedurals seem to still be enormously popular from what I can tell. I'm sure plenty of them are getting modern spin but it is a format that has been quite popular for some time and still seems to be popular even on streaming services.Eh. There are a lot of people out in the real world who have become very aware of some of the systemic problems of policing in America and don't really view cops positively/sympathetically anymore. I would expect the viewership for cop shows to be dropping, while the viewership for things like Only Murders in the Building to grow.
IDK, cops always seem to be popular.
Nobody 'decides' what catches on. But if you have the money, the odds on your being able to make something catch on--even if it's just a game of numbers and luck and throwing crap at walls--is orders of magnitude higher.Sure, but they're not who decides what succeeds in pop culture. They're merely the recipients of that success. They just keep throwing crap at the wall and seeing what sticks until some pattern to the crap-throwing emerges as successful for a while, until the consistency of the crap changes and throwing must change again... er... I don't like this metaphor at all ugh sorry!
Man-made utopias gone wrong: Silo. Fallout. Paradise. It is beginning to look like the age of the MCU is over, and Star Wars is equally unsteady. Zombies died out (ha!) years ago and I don't think pirates of any sort are especially likely to regain popularity. So, what do you think is going to be the next pop culture trend to take over our televisions and movie theaters?
I think we are about due for a few years of jingoistic military entertainment. it has been a while, and it usually happens when things feel uncertain and upended. i think we are due for movies about mercenaries, SEAL teams, and CIA spec ops. I recently finished the second season of The Lioness and it definitely had the vibe.
What do you think?
“The hills are alive with the sound of the lamentations of women!”Musicals
Yes.Other than the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and Black Sails, were pirates ever really in?
Unless you show the cops as corrupt bullies or any in actual positive light, it will be labeled as "copaganda"IDK, cops always seem to be popular. Take anything, I mean anything, and make a police procedural out of it and you will get at least 3 seasons.
