I want to know how they bridge the gap between their xenomorph Gorn and TOS’s lovable Disco Sleestak Gorn who Kirk extends mercy towards.

It’ll be a neat trick. I think they can pull it off. But I admit after Captain Batel was revealed to be infected, I’d be fine with the Metrons giving the Gorn the Husnock treatment.

I think the Gorn in SNW will turn out to be Gorn Augments, I mean why would a species naturally develop the ability to resist being detected with scans. This way they can tie together the two sub plots of the Gorn and the Federation laws on augmentation. So Pike can destroy the GornA and Kirk can still be surprised to meet his adversary in the future

I feel like this is a classic example of a beautiful, extremely neat and clean and precise fan idea, that is way better than anything even good writers tend to actually come up with, when under deadline pressure and trying to handle bunches of plot lines and characters and so on.

I've been noticing these since Lost. People will come up with these really good and elegant and sometimes more meaningful/relevant ideas, and then the actual show just won't be close to them, even. I've seen a couple of interviews with wittier/more self-deprecating writers where someone presented a fan idea to them and they said "Damn I wish I'd thought of that!".

But if you are right, that's a cool concept.

Maybe they're hoping the uncertainty will keep people from cancelling their subscriptions until the new content arrives.

Don't know, but it make me want to drive a few Km to see who is hanging around the studio.
