Please be aware that when you get excited and hyperbolic, the eventual consequences are not on you, they're on me. The people who respond angrily to your bait end up being moderated, and guess who they blame? Yup, me, or Danny, or Umbran.
So when a moderator asks you to tone it down, don't just indignantly think 'gosh, they're tone policing me, how dare they', think 'OK, maybe they will get death threats in a week after this escalates'.
To be transparent, death threats are fortunately rare; mainly we get insults and other attacks, like those above, but it has happened--also over the years I have been assured that should I visit Gen Con there is not only somebody waiting for me with a baseball bat but also I will be sued and arrested instantly should I step foot on American soil. No I am not slightly concerned, but that is the sort of nonsense people spew.
So please, bear in mind, your post might be something else in a week's time, and you aren't the person who has to handle the fallout. If a moderator asks you to tone it down, it's because they are very familiar with the patterns and they seek to avoid the trajectory they know is coming. Even IF you can't see how your post is so bad.
