But they cpllectively ate a level 6 glyph, cone of cold, fireball, spiritual guardians, exploding zombies, and 1-2 if them ate additional glyphs and other spells

While no person was on guard, I bet you have construct servants. Smoke alarms to warn you if the house catches fire. A thermostat to make sure you don't freeze to death. Possibly even a security system.

It's good having Artificers around.

Heh 5E is fairly rich on magic.

NPCs with 3rd level spell slots start at CR 2. Dispel magic exists.
