I suspect someone will create a Shadowdark conversion doc pretty soon. Monsters and treasure would be easy, as would ancestries, but classes probably need a little more tinkering.
Which feels weird, because I think Discord is a terrible replacement for forums. There's also a whole thread on a Dolmenwood to SD conversion on the Arcane Library Discord. In the creators forum bit, same as Old World conversion one. The Discord has a lot of SD resources and ideas.
I’ve been dreaming of a Grimm’s original fairy tales (dark, surreal, dreamlike) crossed with Disney’s versions (light, whimsical) for some time. Likely an offshoot of my love for Changeling: The Dreaming. Basically a dark fairy tale horror comedy setting.I am still searching for the perfect "dark fairy tale" setting. Isolated, small kingdoms set in deep and dangerous forest, etc.
Extracting it from Discord and making it discoverable via search engines would be a good thing. There's also a whole thread on a Dolmenwood to SD conversion on the Arcane Library Discord. In the creators forum bit, same as Old World conversion one. The Discord has a lot of SD resources and ideas.
Edit: The Dolmenwood players guide there for SD is currently 68 pages. That's exciting!
I'd agree mostly, but for single idea things like the creator forums, where it's just me posting my work, answering questions, and getting feedback it's pretty good. The Disacord is also very well populated and you get the mass of ideas and resources that comes with high traffic of dedicated fans. It's pretty cool.Which feels weird, because I think Discord is a terrible replacement for forums.
Yeah, that is an issue. I can direct anyone to it, but I wasn't sure about posting links to outside stuff here.Extracting it from Discord and making it discoverable via search engines would be a good thing.
Yeah, but a high traffic Discord means everything blows away in the wind. I don't like it.I'd agree mostly, but for single idea things like the creator forums, where it's just me posting my work, answering questions, and getting feedback it's pretty good. Discord search works well enough. Better than some forum search engines.Yeah, that is an issue. I can direct anyone to it, but I wasn't sure about posting links to outside stuff here.
True facts. The creator forums at least allow for pinning stuffby the OP, which is somewhat useful. In my case I'll be releasing a PDF in the next week or so on Itch and DTRPG which collects all my setting conversion work to date (and has all the serial numbers filed off for the legal inquisitors).Yeah, but a high traffic Discord means everything blows away in the wind.
