D&D General Why Were the Dragon and Dungeon Magazines Discontinued?

The problem with any digitial distribution is that it gets lost in the shuffle. We get inundated with all sorts of new digital content all the time. We take it for granted, do not appreciate it as a product, and object to paying anything for it.

Tossing the name Dungeon or Dragon on some free article will end up getting lost in the shuffle. This is what we saw with Dragon+.
If WotC were to do Dungeon and Dragon again, they'd be best as:

1.) Products - Something we pay for so that it doesn't just seem like another free article on the internet.
2.) Worth the cost - We'd need to see high quality ... meaning real editing and real development. You'd want to see professional support around the content.
3.) Fanfare - The release of each new installment would need to be promoted so that people knew it was coming.
4.) Be community driven - A big driver of those magazines was that the content was being created by freelancers. A lot of the articles had a feel of being something a fan of the game was introducing to do something they thought was really cool for the game. They were love driven.

Honestly, I feel like En5ider hits all those notes.
