Starfinder What is the status of the setting going into 2E?

I have not really been keeping up with the end of the SF1E adventures and such. What is the status of the setting for 2E? What has changed since 1E?

I think this will largely be answered later this month when the Galaxy Guide book starts shipping to subscribers. I am looking forward to that one since I didn’t play 1e and don’t know much about the lore of the default setting.

I think the biggest change and the thing that has sent reverbrations through the SF universe is the Drift crisis. Otherwise, things stayed pretty much the same overall. Some would even say the Drift Crisis didn't change a ton (I disagree).

I asked a very similar question on these very forums some time ago (took awhile to find it) and it resulted in my buying the Drift Crisis book along with the other addendums.

tell me about the Drift Crisis

Took a while to find it. I would say it changes the dynamic of the universe in regards to the ruling powers, how travel works in some ways, various factions that have arisen, changes in how drift works and a predictable drift lanes where chaos ensues when disrupted, the ensuing changes of the drift makes changes and shakeups within the universe regarding various relationships between planets and factions.

Well, one died in Pathfinder. So it could be a case of "both".
