I've been turned off WotC products anyway so it makes little difference to me, but, I wouldn't care if it was just the art (DnD has had some awful artists over the years anyway, why not use AI), though I'd prefer the art to still be good. For the main content though, I'm not sure I would, after all, that's the sort of thing I can get from AI anyway so why would I pay for it.

Hi folks! I am curious about what would be a dealbreaker for people who buy WotC products.

I see a lot of talk on social media about “AI” being used to make WotC products sooner or later.

Now I am curious: if you knew a product was the direct result of the recent public tools often referred to as AI, would you buy it?

To be more exact, by this I mean that the final product has content that was generated with an “AI” tool and did not get touched or edited by a designer, artist or editor in any way to become the final product.

The art from one of the artists in Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants had art that was rendered with one of the first public tools that could do this. This meant he artist made the design, but used AI to make the details. I would call this using AI to make art, in this situation.

Whatever answer you give, feel free to explain your view on the matter, but please refrain from calling each other out. I know this can be a hot topic, but I am genuinely curious about your personal view.
With ai art? Whatever
With ai plot skeleton later filled in by a human? I don't think this would be detectable because there's really only so many plot structures when it comes down to it
With ai rules? Wtf? I can't even imagine this being useful enough to read

I legitimately wonder what the"never AI" folks plan to do with the massive AI integration into every piece of productivity software they are likely to use, without the ability to opt out.
They're the modern day luddites.

I ignore it. Its now in (thinking) probably 5 of my most commonly used, as in multiple times a day, applications. Its useless. Several of these apps have degraded in functionality thanks to the shoehorning of these "AI" functions where they didnt need to be in the first place.

Open up a PDF "hey this seems long, want a summary?"

No, you naughty word idiot code, I dont want a summary, I want exactly what I opened the PDF for in the first place.

"Hey lets all use these to write our emails and schedule our appointments!"
