I legitimately wonder what the"never AI" folks plan to do with the massive AI integration into every piece of productivity software they are likely to use, without the ability to opt out.
Vote with our dollars? Support businesses that pay creators? Create stuff ourselves?

I choose not to use social media (other than EN World), and despite its proliferation into every aspect of life I still survive. I choose to not buy things from Amazon and instead spend as locally as possible and I'm doing alright.

AI art? No. Someone using AI to look at the back catalog to help organize their thoughts? We would never know. AI can be an aid to development and I don't see an issue with that any more than if they had a Wiki reference page. I could see something like a map generator based on plans for real castles as a starting point for a map. I don't see AI writing complete modules anytime soon.

I did google it- are you referring the shooting of protesters?

Drive down wages, replace labour with machines, add in inflation perhaps or other instability, whats going to happen?

"Just find some other employment." is not it. It was instead riots, and starvation, which back then were cracked down on, while the people making money off the backs of cheaper labour, spun up some nice propaganda that is still parroted to this day.

So yeah, do we really need AI integration in Word, Outlook, JIRA, Adobe Reader and whatever else? Is it really going to improve anything really? Really? I question anyone that thinks we need this crap.

Anyway, would I buy anything Wizards tried to shovel out that was AI generated?

Absolutely not.

I imagine WotC sees AI as an aid for running D&D adventures, not writing them. People are already using ChatGPT to act as virtual Dungeon Masters so they can play solo, with mixed success. I expect it won't be long until AI is pretty decent at doing that. It'll never replace Matt Mercer, but considering how excruciating a bad DM can be, I can't deny I do see the potential.
