Spoilers Superman Spoiler Thread

I would be shocked if Gunn and all the other comics fans involved in production didn't want to have Ultraman to be smart enough to have future roles in the DCU. Making him a big dumb idiot really limits that. And even Marvel knows by now that it was a huge mistake to kill off so many of their early villains and I suspect Gunn won't be doing the same.

Well, I'm of the school (like my wife) that suspects he's Bizarro waiting to happen.

Just watched this last night and I thought it was brilliant, makes me care about Superman again. Krypto was a fun addition and thinking back, without him, Superman may have lost.

Best fight sequence goes to Mr Terrific in the camp with the portal, I'd be keen to see a movie or series that focused on him.

Definitely looking forward to seeing more of Gunn's DC. maybe they could even make a great green lantern movie.

They're ramping up for a Lanterns TV show.

While I liked the Donner films well enough, sadly the Superman I grew up with was Dean Cain, which I do not acknowledge.

So I'm really glad for this movie to be a new Superman that charmed me and really gave me a version of the character to cheer for.

Lead actor notwithstanding, the Adventures of Lois and Clark is an extremely underrated show; Teri Hatcher was great as Lois Lane, John Shea was a great Lex Luther, and Lane Smith is still as much Perry White to me as J.K. Simmons is J. Jonah Jameson.

There's no argument that Smallville isn't the much better TV Superman experience but I'll always have nostalgia for the Superman I grew up with.

Yeah, if one can ignore what one knows about the lead actor, Lois & Clark was great and probably the only time the characters actually managed real sex appeal and chemistry, on the page or off. Given how important their romance is to the franchise, it's noteworthy how passionless it's been over the years.
