[PLEASE HALP!] 5-hour flight; what video game should I play?

• Baldur's Gate 3

This could be a decent choice. You won't finish it from a 5 hour flight. You won't even come close to finishing it. Not a bad choice to spend time though.

• Diablo 4

Terrible choice. If you lose connection, even for an instant, you are hosed. It's an always online. In addition, you said you don't want a lot of mouse or clicking....you will be moving your mouse and clicking a LOT with this game.

It's also the worst game that you've listed of all of them. I am a massive Diablo fan of the earlier renditions (even sort of enjoyed Immortal). This game blows. Hard. It took all I had to continue to play it.

If you have to, play Diablo 2 Resurrected instead.

• Skyrim

Not a bad game. May have a little too much clicking, so...not sure.

• The Witcher 3

Great game. I always played it with a controller though. Not sure how it would work with a mouse, but there are parts which are...sort of actiony?

• Wildermyth
• Silksong

Not sure on Wildermyth. Silksong is another action platformer type, lots of clicking and moving around with this one.

I would love to use the opportunity to play something. Any recommendations? Anything on my list I should avoid at all costs?

Have you tried a more top down game which could also be turnbased.

My thoughts are RPGs such as the excellent Pathfinder Kingmaker, Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Pillars of Eternity, Pillars of Eternity 2, Torment, Tyranny, Shadowrun (Hong Kong or Dragonfall), or Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader.

Those would be a little less intense on the hand clicking, but are pretty good games in line with what BG3 or Witcher 3 may offer, but with a different perspective.

It's an oldie, but FTL is a great game to pass some time, easy on the controls and not too stressful in terms of twitch reflexes, plus one that you could play while listening to podcasts or audiobooks.

Wait -- why's that?? Please explain. I keep reading about the game. Is it screaming because it's awesome or because it's annoying as hell?

It’s a great game, and an evolution of Hollow Knight. However…it’s really, really, REALLY hard. There are some BS fights in there that require perfection that I (and others) are incapable of.

I functionally don't play computer games, but have seen Wildermyth raved about. A friend of mine was a writer on it, so it sticks in my head. Folks on here have described it as also being easy to get into and not requiring quick reaction times.

Monster Train and Slay the Spire are great games to eat that kind of time, especially if you like deck builders.

Play a nice Mario platformer. Or Tetris, that's always fun.

Or even better, combine them and play Dr. Mario!

Any good old rpg will also do.
