The ingredients this year have been awesome and strange. I may be forced to also write a Troika adventure if that trend continues.

I mean, Rune has been doing this for what I believe can accurately be described as decades and I've already burned through enough ideas that I'm apparently double dipping into that well, at a certain point there's fewer places to take our suggestions than weird.

I’m certain I’ve reused a few along the way and/or repeated ones other judges have used. I keep a running list throughout the year of potentially good ingredients as they occur to me (or phrases I come across in the wild) and add to it when and if I end up as a judge. But I don’t cross-reference previous lists or tournaments.

Frankly, I’m okay with an occasional repeat, because the real challenge manifests in the particular grouping of ingredients. And that’s different every time.

(And yes, decades is an accurate description. As if I wasn’t feeling old enough…)
