D&D General Forgotten Realms: Real World Gods Still Present in the Old Empires

Except they are, the entry still refers to Hero, its that they just copied the SCAG and didn't do any research.

Another example is Skuld. Calling it the longest continually occupied human city in Faerûn is taken straight from previous editions. Except it was in ruins in 4e, or at least part of it was. And that wasn't retconned, but because the Sundering and Abeir still get mentioned in the book.

Face it, its just sloppy research, nothing more.
Oof! Copy-and-paste isn't a great way to advance a timeline.

Yarin wasn't a thing before that.

Yarin existed since 4e. He is mentioned in the FRCG entry of Damara.

I know you want the novels to be part of the "main canon" (to give it a name), but the thing is that they are not. We have to accept that and move on.

And I get you. I still get mad every time I look to my campaign guide to try to add the new info to the document.

I just hope it doesn't take me to achieve that the same 18 years people has been complaining about the Spellplague...

I've long reached the point where I don't worry too much about the current lore, I don't even use the spell plague other than a couple of its effects (I like the 4e airspur) I stop at 3e lore. Trying to incorporate all of the lore changes is just too much of a headache.

Very tempted to use 1371 DR myself.

Post 1375 or so might head canon it to fan fiction.
