3PP Release The Night of the Knife: A Campaign Quartet Adventure

i've forgotten to ask until now (since i'm currently putting together the one shot for halloween), but...

what's this supposed to mean under the entry for rindle's knife?
Erroneous leftover text from the original document that never got deleted...

It's gone, now, and replaced with an image of Rindle's Knife.

An observation I had when I read a few pages at a local con (and on public transport) yesterday... Maybe it's because I printed the pdf at half size but I had to strain to read the content of the colored boxes as the colors (and shading) didn't make it that easy to read them.

If things aren't too late, maybe changing the colored background to simple boxes with symbols at the corners of the boxes that somehow relate to the suspect might help with readability (especially for people who might be color blind and can't identify them at first glance)

On another note... I'll probably build a new set of pregens at levels 1, 2 and 3 for the new classes to ease players new to A5E into those new classes (with some new rules).

I'll probably take my other starter characters with "classic" concepts as a basis.
Halfling Guard Rogue will be an Inquisitor
Elf Weaponsmith Fighter will be a Slayer
Dwarf Trader Cleric will be a Keeper
Human Charlatan Wizard will be a Spiritualist

This is what you should see... maybe do a quick cache clear and redownload? Just to make certain it's the right one, I deleted the copy there, then uploaded it fresh, again.

That is a big problem... I'll see what my spouse will do about it.

And yeah? Pregens is a good idea. I have some built up but I'm still waiting on final approval from the spouse before uploading them. He wrote the adventure and had specific ideas about the characters.

just finished running the adventure tonight and...uh...the party never left the house. they solved the case, and i got to run the big fight, and they killed rindle for good...but i rolled ildress as the killer. so they seanced magnus' ghost, learned ailette was involved, managed to get it out of her that her mother was poisoning her and sylvia disappeared shortly after, then they PUT ILDRESS IN CUSTODY AND BROUGHT HER TO THE ATTIC AND INTERROGATED SYLVIA SUCCESSFULLY. so. i had to have ildress sneak out while they were fending off the skeletons in the cellar (they were trying to find sylvia's body) and take kasper hostage early to get the final fight to happen at all.

none of this is a complaint, by the way. we had a great time, and we managed to fit it all into a 4 and a half hour session where if they'd had to have left i think it would've stretched out to at least 2 sessions. but...wow. they were really on the ball. and i probably could have run it better. but hey, the players really liked the npcs they got to talk too. i think their favourite was walter (who survived basically solely because ildress was in the party's custody for like half the session and so she couldn't sicc rindle on him) - they really liked his courage and his belief in the villagers, and one of them wanted me to put the adventure into the world of zeitgeist (they know i plan to run gears of revolution at some point) just for the chance to meet him again.

we also thought the classes were really flavourful and they had a lot of fun playing them. mira (the spiritualist) and her player were super clutch. so...yeah. we kind of made a mess of the adventure, but we had a lot of fun anyway. thanks for writing it! definitely gonna use the classes to help make npcs in the future, hahahaha...

The goofy grin on my face the entire way through reading this...

I'm so happy you and your group enjoyed the adventure! That's everything we hoped for!

A thing I noticed when starting to create pregens "by the book": The Inquisitor has "hauberk" listed in both starting equipments.
Since they aren't proficient with the Steel Hauberk (heavy armor), I assume that's supposed to be the chain shirt (medium armor) which would also reduce their equipment cost by 100 gp (unless they get a mithral chain shirt as their starting equipment ;) )

You are correct! I am a fool!

to be fair, a hauberk IS a chain shirt. a5e calling a full suit of mail "hauberk" is a misnomer, since a hauberk would only be one part of such a suit. so it's not an UNREASONABLE mistake to make...
