OOC (from Discord): Away from comp, Rockhorn retreats back to the door and readies action to close them

Rockhorn moves out of the labyrinth and places himself on the other side of the one open door and prepares to pull it shut once everyone is through. He looks back and is glad to see that Tim is huffing it through the corridor. But, Falen is still floating too far away.

"Falen! Get your floating arse in gear before those undead beasties overrun you and you become one of them! Move!"

"Don't leave me behind," Viscardi pleads.

"Then you better run, thief!" Custodio shouts. "And you better be worth it, if we wait for you!"

 

[Knightfall]

In the Guard House:
Mr. Masson ruses to the guard house's double doors and bangs on them with his fist. "The Exemplars have returned! There are Loyalists! Go get the lord commander! He should be at Tribunal!" He bangs on the door again. "And one of you go tell the Sectarians there are undead. We need firepower!"

"Understood!" A voice on the other side yells.

"And see if you can find one of Thriftmore's runners to go find a powerful priest." Mr. Masson yells, almost frantic.

Spritewing hears a female voice shout out from somewhere. "Mr. Masson, Delwyn, try to calm down. We've got this handled. Trust in The Exemplars."

Spritewing can tell the Elites-in-Training, these Ex-Regulars who would be given a higher place in the martial order, seem very nervous.

"Do not worry, Captain Walther," replies the man who helped Spritewing with the ropes. "My voice will give them courage."

"Then start singing already, Theo!" The female voice replies.

Vitus

OOC: rp stuff

Vitus listened to the calm voice on the other side of the door but, as someone who had been down there fighting, it was difficult to maintain his calm. From the panicked shouts coming up through the trap door, he wondered if the Exemplars had the same confidence in themselves as that female voice had in them. Nonetheless, If Vitus was to prove himself capable, he’d have to keep his composure and force himself to fight.

Akos looks at the developing situation and considers what spells he could employ to change the outome.

In the end, there are only his words that might hold the tide. He cannot affect undead priest nor would he try in situation where they have common enemy. But words...bind...he is careful not to promise more than he can do.

"Priest, listen as one faithful to another—your creator’s tomb is being desecrated by these faithless parasites, not by us. Look at them misusing soul stone. And you're only outnumbered until you take over these wretched undead. The green one holds the soul stone.

Help us rein them in, and I swear on Titania’s name: we will return, prepared and purposed, to cleanse this labyrinth properly. Stand with us now, just long enough to restore order—and your master’s rest remains unbroken.

Or, you know, just firestorm everything and let gods sort us out."

He knows it might hurt, but exemplars are protected from fire. Hopefully, enemies, especially newly created undead, aren't.

Turning to Maggs and pulling her along
"Come, dear, it might get really hot here in a moment. Run!"

OOC: Not sure if this would require diplomacy, is it even working on undead?! Anyhow, speak, move back as far as he can, he doesn't use full round action for this, if it requires standard to be rushed with penalties, so be it single move grts him to 10' from the door. Double move he goes through.

She nods her head in reply. But, she doesn't seem to understand Akos'... subtle inuendo.

OOC: Pulling her along with Akos requires, at least, a Strength check. And, it would probably be at half-movement. I'll doublecheck to see what might exist in the rules for pulling along a willing character.

 

[Knightfall]

While chaos reigns in the corridor, the undead creature that was once Imninon follows the power controlling it. It takes a step and brings its powerful eyes upon two more of the fallen Loyalists. They shudder painfully into unlife.

The newly formed wight pulls itself off the ground and rushes into the corridor past Khagron and Viscardi. The thug tries to hit it as it passes but fails to connect. A moment later, the vampiric bugbear cleric flies after Big Tim like a shot out of a airship's cannon. It flies over the wight and then under the reach of Falen. Its mad, evil rush takes it past Maggs directly to hover in front of Tim.

"We are not done!"

Viscardi moves away from the undead orc skeleton but is unable to avoid a slam from the wight's fist. The damage is minimal but he feel part of his life force being drained. He cries out in pain and shudders as he moves past Maggs and avoids the vampire to stand next to Tim.

The savage skeleton shambles down the corridor towards Maggs and Big Tim. Maggs punches at the skeleton with her gauntlet as it passes her.

At the other end of the corridor, the Undead Priest of the Soulkeeper chants a prayer of darkness and powerful wave of pain ruses out to hit the Loyalists and Falen. Autar dies screaming. Then, the priest takes a step towards Xix and its ring of blades brings the Loyalist soldier down.

Kefax snarls, takes a step, grimaces through the pain inflicted by the slashing blades, and tries to slash the undead priest in two from above on the stairs. The creature blocks the Loyalist commanders attacks.

"Pathetic child!"

In the ladder room, Tuck tries in vain to quickly tie up Lithia with Betella's help, but both of their hands are shaking too much.

OOC: @MetaVoid, let me know if you want Spritewing to do anything now that the petrified wizard is off his back. Otherwise, it is @TaranTheWanderer's turn for Vitus.

Here is the top half of the underground battle map before Spritewing and Vitus's actions in the guard house.

"Maggs, get that sword of yours out and defend yourself!" Akos shouts, his charm prevents the woman from using her weapon and he feels responsible for that.

 

[MetaVoid]

Spritewing looks down and sees there is no one coming up, but there are too many people down to just drop down. He isn't really used to this kind of situation without his friend and he worries. And yet, the best way to help is to bring help, similar to how he went for Vitus.

He yells down the hole "Rockhorn, I'm going to get help! Get up by yourself, I'll be back quickly!"

Turning to the Captain
"Elite, who do I try to get from Temple district? Try to name small or smallish person, not some ogre. Someone can go with me if you think is important."

Rockhorn nods "Good luck!" he yells back
"Come on, boys and girls, the goblin is gaining on you! If someone faster takes over gate duty, I can ready to skewer someone who tries to get out of there!"

Seeing how Tim is almost there, he makes space, moving 10' back and readying to charge first enemy that shows at the door.

OOC: Spritewing only speaks in Dwarven, fly speed 120' good maneuverability I hope the locations will be so that Tim will have move + close the door action and not double move again, if the distances are wrong he readies to close the door instead and then moves back. Can Falen fly the whole way in one round?

After receving the name, Spritewing shots out of the guardhouse at his full speed. He goes high, avoids mining district, but that is all and drops next to the door of the Temple district a minute later.

 

[Knightfall]

When Maggs tries to punch the skeleton, she nearly trips over her own feet.

"Maggs, get that sword of yours out and defend yourself!" Akos shouts, his charm prevents the woman from using her weapon and he feels responsible for that.

She nods to herself once hearing the Loremaster's words and reaches for her sword.

Here is the updated lower half. I'll post an update to the guard house map later this morning. I woke up feeling cold, so I need to get up and warm up a bit.

Time for more sleep, I hope.
