OSR New edition of OSE in 2026 (updated with some links)

A new Backerkit page just went up - Old-School Essentials Month (Backerkit). Main focus seems to be demons/the Demonic Grimoire, but apparently this also is the larger project, in which you will be able to get printed copies of the new version of the rule books.

I wonder if the new OSE manuals will be available separately before that. They are already complete (save, perhaps, for some final edits and proofreading), since the Italian translations has been published.

Has there been any announcement or hint about where and when the necromancer class will be published?

If I got that right from the AMA (on the NG Fan Discord), the necromancy book will come later:

Personally, I would have preferred it the other way around (I have less interest in the demon book). But I also don't want to complain too much as I have ample material for Dolmenwood now.

Oh this is exciting. The one thing I disliked about OSE is the multiple options for buying the game. I have a friend who bought the advanced box and was mad it didn’t include the actual rules after he was told on Facebook it was all he needed. Ok that friend was me. I’ve since bought a couple rules Tomes and the player book. I like this idea with the new version.

That's when OSE Month launches, including this particular crowdfunding campaign. I don't know how long Necrotic Gnome takes to fulfill generally (Dolmenwood's woes aside), but I suspect it'll still be a bit after May 2026.

I have the playtest docs for both, so that can let me hold out till then. Im just gonna groan if the updated OSE 2026 books take longer than 2026 to get. Honestly, all I care about is the class updates and stuff.
