Foreign language words for Shadow?

Ill check back with you after I speak with my girlfriend (she speak arabic).

here are the dutch:

Schaduw - shadow
Donker - dark
Nacht - night

Eclipse and obscure are the same (only pronunciation)

I cant write pronunciation, but Ill see if I can find them.
I speak leventine Arabic. I'll try my best to write them as they are spoken.

Shadow - ghey-yal (gh is like a "I'm about to hock a loogie sound)
Dark - ahtam
Night - bil-lel
Black - aswad

I cough might have some reasons for knowing answers to this question...

A cool-sounding Greek word I've used is:

σκιάζω, or skiázo.

According to Google Translate, it means "shade, shadow, scare". A more neutral word for shadow is:

σκιά, or skiá.

Welcome to the boards. Just an FYI, this thread is 23 years old so it might not be totally relevant to them anymore. The only shadow that might appear is one risen from the grave due to thread necromancy.

That said, I'd never read this thread before and it was an interesting read!
