Maybe, but it was enough of a thing that it made it into a Canadian movie, set in Toronto.

I keep looking out for my favourite chips, that are only rarely released; ketchup Doritos.

Trying to get Americans to believe weird things about Canada is a hallowed sub-genre of comedy up here. Rick Mercer basically built his career on it. See also half of SCTV’s content. I have lived in Ontario and been across the country several times and never seen or heard of ketchup on iced cream as a popular dish anywhere. I think you’ll have to let it go. Or not, if it gives you joy!

I’ve definitely eaten some unusual critters or unusual parts of the more common livestock, but I’ve never had horsemeat…that I know of.

(Sometimes, you eat things without knowing all of the ingredients.)

Mercer is a national treasure. I was there when he did his turn on a racing sidecar rig.
