Might have to buy the pdf.

Cost less than 9 usd.
Free beyond map Faerun. 40 cents to print A3.

Darksun+Faerun A3 test runs.

So nice big map will be 8 usd for the pdf and around 9 to print.

Some of my players want maps as well so can get price per unit down.

I was thinking of all the maps of Faerun released over the years yesterday when this thread started and this one came to mind. Wasn't overly detailed and had drawings adorning it. It was a unique take though. It was a promotion from 1998, though I didn't even know it existed until years later. I did get a copy at one point but pretty sure I sold it during one of my RPG purges.

Seems whoever the art director was at the time was consistent in their goal to make Drizzt look like a 70-year-old dude.

On topic, had no problems using Schley's store, though it was for a digital copy.

Gramps Do'Urden. Elminster looks like he has frostbite and the Simbul looks like she is about to cry. Now that you point it out those portraits always seemed off but never gave it enough thought to put my finger on it.

I bought the Schley maps for Curse of Strahd. At the time my father was still only semi-retired and still has a large-format printer so I was able to print everything out at scale. It was nice for in-person play and, while I'm nostalgic about minis on beautiful printed maps and using LOTS of cotton balls for fog of war, I don't think I would go back to printed maps and terrain. A vertical digital display is so much easier, and cheaper over time, especially now that my dad is fully retired and sold his printer. If I had to pay to print all the maps I printed in the early days of 5e...yikes!

It appears to be missing the southern part of Faerun. Calimshan is in the middle, not in the south of Faerun.

I the early 2000s I worked in the engineering department of General Mills and my boss offered to let me take the large plotter they were throwing away because they were getting a replacement. I decided not to take it because it would cost probably $500, on the low side, to replace the ink and a roll of paper. Would have been nice to have but most likely impractical and cost prohibitive and would have just collected dust afterwhile. I worked at other places over the years and was able to plot out large maps or scan the ones I owned and make copies. Interesting how technology has advanced since then.

I'm a sucker for giant maps. I had Fedex Office print and laminate the big Sword Coast map from Storm King's Thunder a number of years ago at 48" by 32". My problem with that map was the amount of space dedicated to empty water - almost half the map is ocean! It was still useful for my SKT campaign but laminating caused it to curl and I could never get it to lay flat.

I had the battle maps for Hall of the Fire Giant King from the D&D 4E version in Dungeon Magazine printed a number of years ago on vinyl, and those are HUGE. I also got super lucky and managed to get the dimensions right so the squares are 1". Vinyl is the way to go though for flat maps, so I pulled the trigger on Schley's 48" x 72" banner version of the Faerun map. I'll share pics once I get it!

I tried getting vinyl laminated here. They said no.
