Adam Baldwin was one of the most high profile people behind Gamergate years ago, and has made a lot of homophobic remarks on social media. Not someone I would want to associate with regardless of the project.

Well, Wash was a fan favorite, and part of the core crew dynamic. I don't know that the show works without him, to be honest.

Yeah, you can fit some story in there, but unless they pull scifi shenanigans not normally seen in the show, there's a pretty hard limit presented... largely by River's stated age in the movie, I think.

I dunno how you do Firefly without Whedon - his voice is all over that show. And I don't know how you do Firefly with Whedon. So, while I would love this animated version to be great, I have my doubts.

With reports of how the writer's room worked with him in it... I am mot convinced that the show was actually improved by his presence.

Like, the "gang rape Inara" episode plan was apparently Joss', and might just have killed the show if it ever aired.
