I get it. Tough sometimes to allow the players full agency while simultaneously telling a satisfying story. Nothing wrong with some light railroading as long as it’s a smooth ride, though it seems like your players are happily onboard. I also suspect if a confrontation with Vorkannis was forced too early it would probably end quite poorly for the players.Yes and no. It's complicated. There needs to be struggle, be it the illusion of struggle or actual struggle, but also a high stakes final confrontation that isn't spoiled in act 1.
