D&D General DDB/WOTC Price Increases

Wow. I just checked out the Ravenloft pre-order on D&D Beyond saw the massive price increases. The DDB Physical + Digital ($60 + $15). That equates to a 50% increase in the digital add-on. I did not catch the page count on the book so I cannot really comment on the physical book price. I know that same book in digital used to be 24.99 and it is now 39.99. The massive bundle at $185 is insane. It may have been worth it for 99 or even 119 to get the cards and DM screen but $185?!

WOTC may be a pass for me moving forward.

I was midly interested in one of those. My guess is that they will have a super bundle at 200+ for that as well. The player book may be of interest but I do not use FR at all.
Go with the bundles that just gives you the digital and physical books since the Ravenloft book has a bundle that's half the price of the Ultimate version. As for the campaign book, there's nothing wrong with getting the Deadfall book and implementing elements of it like enemy stat blocks to your campaign.

Not justifying WotC's pricing, just pointing out

The physical book is 288 pages.
The complete bundle comes with the book, the digital book, the cards ($25), the DM screen ($25) and the map pack with tokens ($25).

Not sure i understand the problem?

The books vary in price more than they used to based on size, and price has increased very slightly...as it must. The bundles are still a good deal.

Old-timer perspective. When I bought my first hardcovers—the 1st edition AD&D core books, in the mid-80s—they were $15 and 128 pages with black & white art. That's $45 in 2026 dollars. The 5.5e core books are $50, exactly three times the page count, and have full-color art.

Myself? I can't complain. :)
