D&D 5E (2024) The most popular spells in 2024 5e

I love that you really want to get into it. So like mentioned, I analyze the popularity of how often class-specific spells are added relative to all spells to help come up with the weighting of the classes. It's a work in progress.
Thanks. You obviously aren’t ready to present that part yet. When you are I am interested to see where you ultimately landed.

I love this. One oddity, though, is the high ranking of a mandatory spell such as Divine Steed (paladin) or Hellish Rebuke (species). I feel you would have to remove that factor to see how much appeal the spell actually has (ie remove tieflings and then see how often Hellish Rebuke is chosen).

It gets really technical with the math, analyzing std. deviations away from spell averages, etc. I add in my own opinionated weights too. It's my colonels secret recipe, haha.

Yeah, there will always be oddities. Popularity is an authoritative list of what spells people add (on 5e Spellbook Builder), Appeal will always be an interpretation of that data. I think it's more truthy and useful than misleading or I wouldn't have released it. It's most useful when you use the filters, and look at specific classes or levels. Seeing how much appeal Eldritch Blast has over Hunter's Mark is obviously not meaningful.

Ah, I just realized I can filter by class and such. That’s immediately more useful.
