I think this is a great question. If you don't like one version or another, just play the one you have been playing. You don't have to stop doing something you like just b/c the most recent version isn't your flavor of candy.

I think it would rock if both editions remained strong into the future. Like the OP said, why can't they just coexist and be friends? I will only play one edition, won't say which, but I would love to have the option to change if I'm no longer happy.

Can truthfully say I'm not jealous. I was there the past 2 years and just didn't feel like going this year. Have the money, time, etc. Just not the desire this go around. I'd rather hang with my wife and dogs.

I am asking these honestly and openly: Why do we want WotC to dominate the market via something like the OGL? Why do we want all other gaming systems to look just like DnD? It sounds like the OGL made everyone the same.
