I'm not even 20 years old! I'm basing it on the existence of various popular games - Final Fantasy Tactics and its sequels, the Disgaea series, the Fire Emblem series... there's plenty out there; just because the west doesn't make many, doesn't mean they wouldn't sell.

People recognise the D&D name, and it provides a basic system to program in rather than leaving you needing to come up with it all from scratch. Strikes me as a pretty good reason. There's no less reason to licence 4e than any previous edition of D&D, yet there's been tons of D&D video games...

I don't wonder about the lack of all sorts of things that perhaps our society could have invented by now but simply haven't been conceived of, but if someone asks me to do something they could do themselves, I'll ask why they want me to do it. I haven't read the excerpt properly yet, but I like the concept; I'm glad to see more options for Barbarians which really play up the new supernatural side of the class.

Never had a box set, but books are cheaper and take up less space, so they win out for me.

The characters could be stuck in a cycle of reincarnation into different forms for inexplicable reasons (i.e. not just when they die); discovering how and why could work into the plot somehow.

I hope that at least one of the Psionic classes - probably the Psion - has an Augment ability, similar to Channel Divinity. Since it didn't show up on the Monk, I'm not too hopeful, but I would certainly like to see some form of augmentation appear in 4e (though obviously not like it was in 3.5...

Does it specify what kind of magic? Because the Monk preview referred to "Psionic magic", so that could still fit, going from your choice of wording. I haven't read the book, so if it more explicitly describes the magic then ignore this.

I'd love to see a big book of GSL-available appropriate monsters converted into PC races, with feats, pseudo-classes á la Spellscared, Paragon Paths, and Epic Destinies as options to get more monsteryness into your character. Savage Species was probably my favourite 3E book, so something that...
